Our Purpose Our objective is to preserve the integrity of individuals facing terminal illness. In death, as in life, we seek to ensure that individual wishes are fulfilled in accordance with their own desires. It is never too early to express these wishes. In fact, the earlier and more rationally a person can do this planning, the better. Our ultimate goal is to guarantee a patient's absolute right to determine the limits of medical treatment when facing the end of life. In instances where patients can no longer make decisions for themselves, we seek to guarantee that the privilege of decision making falls to relatives or friends of the patient's own choosing, not to agents dictated by government agencies or medical institutions.
